So you have the perfect 'antique' quilt to put on the wall. How do you make sure that hanging doesn't 'kill' it? Fabric can rip, sun can fade the colours, passing hands can soil and abrade it.
First- avoid direct sun. Also, avoid damp areas like basements and bathrooms. Best bets - places of consistent low temperature and humidity.
The very best place to display a quilt in on a bed in a seldom-used room with the blinds down.
If it 'must' go on the wall, stitch a length of loop velcro to wide cotton tape. Hand stitch the tape to the back top edge of the quilt. Staple a like length of hook velcro to a wooden slat and attach the slat to the wall. Measure the space carefully to be sure the quilt will hang right where you want it.
Carefully press the two velcro pieces together - get help from a friend or two if the quilt is large. Adjust this attachment to smooth out the droops.
